Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyse the personal and social competencies, through the application of the Effective Personality Questionnaire CPE-Es/Ch by Dapelo, Marcone, Martín del Buey, Martín and Fernandez (2006), in adolescents diagnosed with ADHD. The sample was composed of 250 adolescents between the age of 12 and 18. 189 (75.6%) of said adolescents were male, and 61 (24.4%) female. The questionnaire was based on the model of the construct as formulated by professors Martín del Buey and Martin Palacio (2012). It is a multidimensional construct that takes four theoretical constructs as its starting point (strengths of the self, requests of the self, challenges of the self and relationships of the self). The results reveal that adolescent males diagnosed with ADHD obtain significantly better grades than females diagnosed with the same disorder.
