Resumo
The Scottish Parliament, with barely over twenty years of history, has just begun its sixth legislature. On the 6th of May 2021, last elections were held to elect the representatives of this young institution. The aim of this text, paying special attention to the last election, is to carry out a historical and descriptive analysis in which the electoral system, the party system, the electoral results, and the model of selection of the First Minister of Scotland are studied. In addition, this paper also offers a contextualization of some of the main debates that are currently dominating Scottish politics.
