Abstract

Doctoral thesis by compendium of four scientific articles, to identify the factors associated with the psycho-emotional and occupational consequences of home confinement and physical distancing derived from the disease caused by the SARS CoV-2 virus (COVID-19) in the adult population. A systematic review of 26 articles was carried out where it was found that the factors associated with high levels of anxiety, stress and depression in the world population were female gender, youth, not having an income, previous psychiatric illness and inadequate management of the pandemic by the authorities. In addition, a cross-sectional study was carried out in which 3261 Spanish people participated where the main variables associated with a worse psycho-emotional and occupational state were long periods of confinement, perception of insufficient information received, not having private access to the outside, unemployment or telework, female gender, being young, isolation and suffering from COVID-19.
