Elaboración, validación y aplicación de un cuestionario para evaluar las necesidades detectadas por el entorno del Mixed Ability Rugby (Q-NeMAR)

Abstract

The objective of this thesis is to identify the necessary factors for the success of Mixed Ability rugby, while it is intended to increase the knowledge of this sport as a way to improve the social inclusion of people with disabilities. For this purpose, a questionnaire is elaborated and validated following the Delphi method, the Q-NeMAR questionnaire. Subsequently, its easy-to-read version is created and validated to guarantee access to it. Then, the questionnaire is applied to players, family members, club staff and referees related to Mixed Ability rugby in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador and Spain. As a result of this study, a scheme is obtained with the key points to improve the visibility and promotion of Mixed Ability rugby in these countries. Among the conclusions, it highlights that the role of the sports environment is essential to guarantee the rights of access and full participation of people with disabilities in sport. It is also concluded that Mixed Ability sport contributes to changing the vision of the environment towards models in which people with disabilities are recognized as full citizens.
