Abstract

This study evaluated the impact of a cardiac rehabilitation program at the University Hospital of Burgos on quality of life, psychological health, body mass index, weight, and other functional and anthropometric parameters. The SF-36 and RAND-36 tools were compared to assess quality of life, and pre- and post-intervention changes were analyzed. The results showed significant improvements in quality of life, anxiety, depression, weight, BMI, waist circumference, and cardiovascular endurance. The reliability of the assessment scales was confirmed, and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach was emphasized. It was concluded that cardiac rehabilitation improves multiple dimensions of health and should be part of standard care. However, challenges such as adherence and the sustainability of benefits were identified. Further research is suggested to assess long-term impact, personalize approaches, and integrate technologies such as telemedicine and remote monitoring.
