Doctor by the Universitat de Barcelona with the thesis Jellyfish of the Spanish Mediterranean coast effects of environmental factors on their spatio-temporal dynamics and economic impacts 2014. Supervised by Dr. Josep Maria Gili Sardà, Dr. Isabel Muñoz Gràcia, Dr. Verónica Fuentes.

Dr. Antonio Canepa, a Marine Biologist, has worked on marine conservation and global change projects at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC, Barcelona). In 2009, he received a “JAE-Intro” scholarship for the Master’s Degree in Global Change (UIMP-CSIC). In 2011, he received the International Doctorate scholarship (CONICYT-Chile) with which he studied the Fundamental and Applied Ecology Program at the University of Barcelona (UB) and developed his Doctoral Thesis at the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC). He participated in various European citizen science projects and in 2015 received the Postdoctoral Attraction and Insertion in the Academy Scholarship (PAI-CONICYT) at the Catholic University of Valparaíso (PUCV). He worked on the analysis of zooplankton and developed a citizen science platform, Gel-Chile. He has taught statistical programming courses and has extensive experience in teaching statistics and programming in languages such as R, Linux, and Python. He is currently an Assistant Professor Doctor at the University of Burgos, working on Data Mining, Biometeorology, Bioinformatics, and Statistical Modeling applied to different disciplines. To date, Dr. Antonio Canepa has 35 indexed scientific publications, more than 45 participations in national and international congresses, and has a Triennium recognized by the University of Burgos and a Research Six-Year Period recognized by the ANECA. He also has a “B-Outstanding” evaluation in the DOCENTIA Program of the University of Burgos.
