PEREZ CASTAÑOS

PhD in Political Science (University of the Basque Country, Spain, 2014); MA in Governance and Political Studies (University of the Basque Country, Spain, 2011); MA in Applied Social Research & Data Analysis (Center for Sociological Research -CIS-, Spain, 2012). His research activity began in the University of the Basque Country thanks to a competitive Government Grant. He complemented his studies there with different courses in the University of Essex, CIS, University of Salamanca and the University of Burgos. He has been a visiting fellow in the University of Essex (UK), the Università degli studi Federico II (Naples, Italy) and the University degli study di Macerata (Macerata, Italy). Since 2010 he colaborares with the Euskobarometro research team in the University of the Basque Country. from 2015 on he is a professor in the University of Burgos. From 2016 until 2020 was Studies Director for the BA in Political Science. From 2021 on he is the Vicesecretary General in this institution. In 2017 he was elected por the Executive Board of the Spanish Political Science Association (AECPA). During 2019 he was National Coordinator in Spain for the European Parliament project ‘Platform Europe’ consisting in creating the European Election Monitoring Center. He has been part of different research projects in international, national and regional levels. His research interests move along electoral behaviour, federalism and public communication. In this areas he has published in the Revista Española de Ciencia Política, the Revista Española de Investigaciones Sociológicas, National Identities, Italian Political Science Review or the CIS among others.
