Résumé

The Chapter of the Cathedral Church of Burgos in the Late Midle-Ages (1352-1407) The general objective of this thesis is the study of the internal structure, economic and social development of Burgos’s Cathedral Church Chapter in the fourteenth century, between 1352 and 1407. The main source used, the “Libros Redondos” of the Cathedral´s archive, have allowed structuring this study. This thesis begins with the presentation of the state of the art of the Cathedral chapters in the Spanish and European historiography. After performing the analysis of the primary source, it has been able to recompose the composition and development of the chapter, and determine pontifical, monarchical, and regular intervention of ecclesiastical provisions and its link to patronage networks. Analysis of the results cannot be separated from the of Western Schism context. It has been shown the incidence of the crisis in the rural and urban heritage of the chapter, the leasing methods and the balance of income/expenses and rents. Likewise, liturgical and cultural dimensions, and projection of the chapter in the society of Burgos have also been analyzed.
