Abstract

In the current environment of economic crisis and of the aggravation of the unemployment the worry is, especially, with the deterioration of the Mental Health of the University Students that will go to go out for the Market of Work. The present study describes the characteristics and analyses the relations between mental health and the expectations of the students of face when achieving or no a future employment (next). The participants will be Portuguese University Students. For the evaluation of the variables in study will be used: a questionnaire for characterisation sociodemográfica of the subjects of the sample; the Portuguese version of the Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI) (Canavarro, 1999) to evaluate the sintomatologia psicopatológica; the Portuguese version of the Mental Health Inventory (MHI) (Ribeiro, 2001) to evaluate the distress and the psychological welfare; and the Scale of Desânimo of face to the employment (adapted of Job Hopelessness Scale � J.H.S.) To measure the individual expectations in what it concerns to achieve or no a future employment.
