Abstract

The technological evolution that has hit us over the last 20 years, has influenced and continues to influence the way we communicate, report, study, work ... the technology is all around us, pervades our lives and it is an integral part. The purpose of the present study is to provide information on the use of mobile technology (tablets and smartphones) among children aged 1 to 11 years and determine whether there is consistency in the use and approach to new technologies between the different members of the family. The objectives are: Identify the aims that motivate the use of technology; Measure the time dedicated to the use of smartphones and / or tablets; Identify whether between parents and children, there is a report in the use of new technologies. - Determine whether there is an association between the use / abuse of multimedia devices and sleep disorders, language acquisition and disorders / attention difficulties. The sample consists of 760 households in Italy, was identified through a random selection. The instrument used, a semi-structured questionnaire, composed of 23 items, was administered and disseminated through social networks more popular. Data were collected and processed with Google form, with Excell has been realized the tabutazione and graphic representation, and finally with Tlab was carried sematica text analysis. Quantitative and qualitative analysis of the data has been evidenced that the totality of the respondents usually use tablet and / or smartphone with its internet connection and that almost the totality allows the son, even very small, to benefit from the devices. For families then diversify the times and reasons that affect the enjoyment of the device .Children were drawn as the mirror of the parents, in fact, both qualifying for tablets and smartphones not as tied to learning tools, deepening and training but to communicate, play (delight / digress), occupy the time. With the following search is not demonizing the use of technology, since it is believed that when used with awareness, new technologies can improve the quality of learning.
