Abstract

This dissertation aims to characterize the methodology used in PE teaching in the community of Castilla y León. The study is carried out with all public secondary schools in Castilla y León where PE was one of the subjects taught in English, i.e. 26 schools are participating in the study. This study uses a mixed methodology beginning with quantitative analyses and followed with qualitative analyses. Evidences show that teachers have a positive perception about possibilities of PE in English learning. It is concluded that comprehension and oral expression skills are more used than comprehension and written expression in PE. The organization of groups in not bilingual and bilingual coincides with best and worst academic results respectively
