Zusammenfassung

Structural monitoring has become a fundamental tool in infrastructure management. The databases for the design, maintenance and operation of infrastructures must be fed back with the data obtained from the analysis of the actual behavior of the structures in service. The current Structural Monitoring Systems are conceived as "Living Systems", this implies that they are subject to a continuous process of feedback: 1. Analysis of the data provided by the Instrumentation of the Structure. 2. Comparison of this empirical analysis with the theoretical analysis of the project relational databases. 3. Update the calculation models and databases associated with the actual expected behavior of the structure. This feedback process facilitates the management and maintenance of infrastructures, making possible the planning of conservation work, with the consequent reduction in the impact or scope of these works and their economic cost. In the development of the thesis, an exposition of different techniques of structural monitoring is made, and a series of design criteria are presented, for the achievement of optimal solutions associated with the characterization of a certain structural phenomenon.
