De Königsberg a Kosovo. La Paz Democráticadel planteamiento filosófico al discurso político y su aplicación en el régimen de los protectorados internacionales

Resumo

The Democratic Peace Theory is one of the most relevant in International Relations. This relevance, however, is not only academic, but also political. The adulteration and simplification of Doyle´s original theory, which was based on the ideas of Russet or Rummel, has allowed for its adoption into political discourse and for its application to political regimes, such as the international protectorates currently in place in Kosovo and Afghanistan. The negative results obtained from the adoption of these policies, based on a theory never meant for political application, indicate why their elimination would be preferable.
