Abstract

Castile and Leon, in the most recent statutory reform, has assumed exclusive responsibility for common law as part of its legal and cultural heritage. Compliance with the statutory mandate will require a detailed, well-documented study to identify the common law institutions that have survived to the present day; especially, given the objective difficulties of providing proof or credentials. In this respect, the fact is stressed that in Castile and Leon, even though custom plays a minor role in the field of Administrative Law, its survival is of greater relevance in the regulation of certain local public institutions.
