Abstract

The alternative ways of resolution of conflicts – ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution – were born in the Anglo Saxon sphere during the seventies and, they have been gradually spreading to other cultures, such as the European and the Latin American, mainly in the nineties. Negotiation, conciliation and mediation are ways that are winning supporters. We attach special attention to mediation. To the familiar mediation to be precise. We deal with its origin, evolution and the current family mediation services. We analyze the various experiences of family mediation in Latin American (Brazilian).
