Abstract
The study of the vocabulary related to domestic life and clothes present in a goods inventory in Burgos from the year 1853 enables us to identify those words which were widespread in the 19th century. The Lexical Corpus of 17th century Inventories is used as a reference to specify the terms from the 19th century and the dictionaries edited in this century permit us to observe their implementation. It features words such as librillo 'roll-up cigarette paper', madrás, percal, percalina, retorte, tartán, balduque, bombachos, camisolín, chalina, elástica, manteleta, mantola y marsellé. The goods inventories have been put forth as an interesting documentary source to complement the literary and the scientific sources as it allows us to identify words from everyday life which are a product of social changes as real terms from the 19th century.
