Resumen

Introduction: The research about recovery in psychosis could be consideredas a process that involves the illness management. It means, the developmentof coping skills, the disorder knowledge and a healthy lifestyle. The objective of this research is to study what factors are important in personal recovery in a sample of Spanish patients with psychosis. Methods: The sample consisted of 95 patients (males 70,5%) who had at least one psychotic episode.Results: The lowest level of recovery correlated significantly with more subjective psychotic experiences, stigma, functional impact of illness and Symptoms. Furthermore, the results show significant differences depending on thestage of recovery in all variables except for the positive symptoms and discomfort. Conclusions: personal recovery, involves an improvement in symptomatology, but also other factors such as stigma decrease
