Abstract
The Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory (PEDI) was developed in the 90´s, but nowadays it is one of the most used tools for the clinical practice and for international research. This paper analyzes its relationship with the child and youth version of the International Classification of Functioning (ICF-CY) and with the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework. The PEDI and the ICF-CY are related mainly with the "Activities and Participation" component. There are some items that can be related with the "Body Structures" component. All of the activities of daily living defined in the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework are present in the PEDI, except the personal device care and the sexual activity. Some of the PEDI abilities can be related with instrumental activities of daily living. The close relationship between the three documents, turns the PEDI in an appropriate tool for evaluate the functioning and the participation of the children with disability.
