Resumen

The development of social organizations for the visually impaired and the creation of new tiflothecnic materials have meant a great advance for the design of educational programs in the last decades. However, some shortages have been detected in the Spanish secondary school practice, in particular in the teaching of English as a foreign language. Among others, the lack of specific research and the overuse of visual input in ordinary student’s books deserve special attention. Thus, this article focuses on a pedagogic adaptation for visual-impaired students combining three tiflotecnic elements: the braille system, the increase of tangible pictures, and the LEO electronic device. Furthermore, the implementation of this combination takes the form of a pedagogic adaptation pattern in order to solve the detected shortages and to provide more autonomy in the learning process to the visually impaired students.
