Abstract
This paper analyzes from a sociological and philosophical perspective the effects of Globalization in Spain, taking into account both opportunities and threats of globalization as a process. Regarding opportunities, we highlight the enlargement of markets and increase in vital opportunities for Spaniards. Regarding threats, the perverse effects of the higher influence of global fluctuations in Spanish economy are examined. Globalization has implications for the link between Spain and Latin America and migrations. The article concludes with a reflection on the differences between information and knowledge and the implications of those differences regarding the effects of globalization for Spain.
