Abstract

This paper shows a detailed study of oral pathologies in a sample from the medieval monastery of San Pablo (Burgos, Spain). Presence or absence and type of dental caries, calculus, periodontal disease, abscesses and dental wear have been recorded in 71 individuals of both sexes and all groups of ages-at-death. To do that, an especial database was created, in which the type and severity of each disease were recorded. Four different age groups were established based on permanent molar eruption, which allow us to determine different developmental status.
