Resum

Movie stars have awakened special interest among Spanish poets since the beginning of film art. It is of special interest in comparatist terms to prove how Spanish poetry has reflected these changes by depicting classic film’s woman in the light of the literary tradition of classical myths. From vanguards to these days, poetry has contributed to the creation of new myths that have worked in a similar way to the antique myths inherited from the classic culture. A good example is the case of Greta Garbo, whose influx remains in recent poetry; or the case of Pablo García Baena’s admired Marlene Dietrich. Especially interesting is the poetic cycle about the tragic death of Marilyn Monroe. This article aims to cover the mysterious relation between the word and these spectacle of cinema’s inmortal figures.
