Franchising has been became in a distribution channel very important in Spain. Many people want to have success as franchisor or franchisee. Currently there are units of franchising that not require simultaneously entry rights and royalties to open franchised establishments. This paper aims to explain the evolution oppening of owned and franchised establishments in Spanish franchise units that require simultaneously entry rights and royalties to open franchised establishments. This analysis will be applied in the sector of the fashion for the time period 1995-2005 The conclusion is that Spanish franchise units open and close owned and franchised establishments according the theory of agency, the theory of the scarsety resources and the theory of signaling
