Abstract
The purpose of this communication is to analyze the urgent measures of rationalization of public expenditure in the educational field collected in the Royal Decree-Law 14/2012, of the twentieth of April, and the structural reforms in the educational field and vocational training collected in the National Program of Reforms of Spain`s kingdom of 2012. In first place, we describe the measures of rationalization of public expenditure in education. In the same way we focus on educational indicators affected by these measures like the school hours of teaching staff, the pupil-teacher ratio, the pupil-classroom ratio, the public prices of academic services and we compare the levels reached for these indicators in Spain with the figures reached for these indicators in the OECD's countries. Subsequently, we describe the structural reforms in the educational field and vocational training that the Government wants to carry out to overcome the inefficiencies detected in the evaluations of the educational system. We conclude with the conclusions that we can extract from the analysis carried out.
