Abstract

Nowadays the detection of contaminants and toxins dangerous to the living beings, and the environment in general, is an important issue for the society. Because of that, this work is centered in the development of new fluorogenic probes (molecules or structures able to change its fluorescence in the proper conditions) for the detection of toxins by a great change in the fluorescence in its presence. Starting with the results obtained previously by the research group, we tried to develop new fluorogenic probes for the detection of some toxins that are not easy or very expensive by the current methods, such as Methylmercury (II) and Cereulide.
