Abstract

This research analyzes the relationship between the board composition of non- profit organizations and their financial vulnerability. This study follows a multitheoretical framework that includes aspects from different theories (agency and resource dependece mainly), considering both oversight and strategic roles of the board. A contingent approach is also assumed, taking into account the influence of some characteristics of the organization on the relationship between the board and the financial vulnerability. This paper shows the preliminary results, as well as the remaining empirical analyses.
