Abstract

Currently, respect for the environment is a social value that increasingly protected, to be synonymous with “quality of life”. It is clear that human activity is causing a negative impact on the entire planet, so that having cyclic processes, where the waste from one activity constitute the raw material input of another is necessary. The pretention of this job is studing how the added white slag, replacing parcially or totally the sand, afecct the propieties of fracture of bastard mortars. That is reason, different studies have been done using both experimental and analitic processes, through the analysis of surfaces of response. Apart from the destinated samples to obtain the propierties of fracture, other required samples have been used to obtain ideal mixture such as other basic propierties to characterise the mortars. It could be said, that the usage of steel slag replacing the silic sand let obtain the brickwork mortars for construction with mechanical propierties equivalent to the traditional mortars.
