Resum

The main objective of this work was to prove that in the university context, the use of active methodologies such as training in social skills and Cooperative Learning are effective to develop interpersonal and teamwork skills of university students. Furthermore, we analyzed to what extent, the main variables involved in the efficiency of the cooperative methodology, these determine the development of social skills to work in learning teams when working cooperatively. For it, we designed several quasiexperimental investigations, in which 2,071 university undergraduate students of in Social, Infant and Primary Education degree from University of Extremadura participated. On the one hand, the results indicate that in the investigated university context, although with difficulties, training in social skills, in general, positively influences social skills and reduces social anxiety, endorsing the convenience of including and controlling the variables prior training and social anxiety when designing social skills training programs. Outstanding the effect of training in social skills and cooperative methodology, on the social skills of the team, the short-term effectiveness of training in social skills and the importance of controlling the number of team members, social skills and academic level of students when planning cooperative techniques. However, we can affirm that, what will mark true differences in the development of team social skills is the continuity over time of the cooperative methodology.
