Abstract

With the exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union, the Common Law legal system is also removed. This circumstance facilitates future legal harmonization between the so-called legal system of Civil Law or continental law, the legal system that regulates the countries, with the exception of Ireland, that remain in the Union. It will henceforth be easier to create a common European legal science based on Roman law, as Roman law is converted into its single and fundamental unifying element: the Roman legal order is the common foundation of all the legal orders of Continental Europe. It is time to assert the influence of Roman law in the future configuration of the common European legal order.
