Abstract
Introduction: Lung cancer is a significant alteration not only because of its high incidence and mortality but also because of the consequences it causes. A therapeutic tool that is currently being used in a large number of pathologies is video games, these are proposed as a complement to conventional rehabilitation treatment. The objective of the present investigation is to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of videogames as a complement to the conventional treatment of occupational therapy in patients with lung cancer. Methods: A unique case in which a pretest and posttest was carried out after an intervention of 40 videogame sessions, for 4 weeks; with thirty-minute sessions in the morning and in the afternoon from Monday to Friday. The autonomy of Activities of Daily Living, chronic pain, coordination, strength, joint range and quality of life was assessed. Conclusions: The use of videogames has proven to be a playful way of performing physical activity that significantly increases strength, a slight increase in the articular range and autonomy of daily life activities; All this improves the quality of life of cancer patients.
