Abstract

The Loaísa family is a descent of knights settled in Talavera de la Reina since the High Middle Ages. Fr. García de Loaísa, archbishop of Seville, king’s confessor, President of The Council of Indies and the Supreme Council of the Inquisition, he acquired many properties and incomes and the lordship of the town of Valdecarábanos (Toledo) and he founded a family estate for his nephew D. Álvaro de Loaísa.
