Zusammenfassung

The activity of Fray Diego de Deza as a promoter of the arts is endorsed by the works he sponsored in the cathedral of Palencia. During his government Martín de Solórzano was hired to complete the cathedral, the greater altarpiece of the cathedral was entrusted to Pedro de Guadalupe and the sculpture of it to Felipe Bigamy. In this study we will appreciated the artistic taste of the prelate and his involvement in the different cathedral projects will be valued, stopping especially in the first project for the main altarpiece of the cathedral.
