Abstract

The excavation works in the Zaldu area (Sopelana, Biscay) has evidenced the presence of two archaeological sites, Mendieta I and II. In the first one, the lithic industry appears within an original stratigraphic context of lower Paleolithic age. The stratigraphic and sedimentary features in this site derived from fluvio-alluvial and pedogenic processes.
