Abstract
- Introduction: “Joan i el asma” is a multimedia material designed for pediatric patients with asthma. This study seeks the validation of this material for the improvement of the self-management in the pediatric patients with asthma. A methodology based in qualitative and quantitative data has been used through the IPECC model, which thanks to its iterative procedure, provides an optimal quality control of the product, the result and the process. For that purpose, a sample of, around 872 children, experts, pediatric patients and families, has been counted. Conclussion: The main results show how the material provides information to the asthmatic pediatric patients in a motivating and playful way, through the combination of images and words. Thereby, the multimedia material “Joan i el asma” has helped in the creation of an educational multimedia material meant to the management of pathologies in infants.
