Abstract
In the Knowledge Society in which we are immersed, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have a very relevant role at an economic and social level and in all sectors of employment. Social Education cannot be kept apart and in this paper we reflect on the role of ICT in the training of social educators. We start with a historical overview of the different stages of social education qualifications in Spain, analysing the role and presence of ICT in each of them. We propose as an objective of the work to know if there is a subject on ICT in the Degrees in Social Education of the different universities and for that we carry out a documentary analysis of the curricula of the degrees. The results show the existence of the subject in the majority of the universities with an obligatory character, as well as the offer of other related subjects as optional subjects. Finally, to finish the work we contrast the results with the contributions of various authors regarding ICT and social education, as well as with official documents such as the Professionalizing Documents of Social Education and we draw the conclusions.
