A soil has been characterized as a Ranker. In this soil, the clay fraction has behavior during succesive tratements with alkaline solutions, has been studied in te dispersable and stable aggregates fractions of soil. We study in this paper the organic matter's behavior along a secuential extraction procedure, in which alkaline buffers of different pH are used. Each soil fraction obtained by the dispersion-sieving combined method reported in a previos paper, is extracted in this way. The resulting humic acids after purifications are passed through a Sephadex G-100 gel filtration device and the obtained data are used to characterice each fraction. We conclude that the dispersable aggregates fraction contains the most of the humified compunds; and the every aggregates fraction contains organic matter, be this organic matter humified, or not, which is affected in a different way by each different alkaline extractant buffer. Finally, models to explain the resulting data are proposed.
