Résumé

The stratigraphic, sedimentological and tectosedimentary characterization of the Cretaceous sediments (Aptian to Conia- cian) of the Central Depression (Lamare, 1936), lead to the identification of a shallow carbonate platform deposits, followed by a mixed siliciclastic platform to basinal carbonate sediments deposited transgresivelly on the southern margin of the Bort- ziri-Cinco Villas Palaeozoic massif (Bodego et al., 2015). The evolution of those depositional systems was controlled by 5 extensional tectosedimentary phases. Petrological and geochemical studies of the Albian and Late Turonian sediments show diagenetic alteration features due to hydrothermal fluid-flow. This hydrothermalism features could be correlated to the onset of a hyperextended continental margin to the south of the Bortziri-Cinco Villas Palaeozoic massif (DeFelipe et al., 2018).
