Résumé

The study analyzes the characteristic features of the baroque style, as a cultural expression, expressed in artistic works such as the church of la Compañía de Jesús, an important icon of Ecuador due to the details that reveal a time when Catholicism used the style as an instrument for Counter-Reformation that faced Protestantism, whose strong expressiveness in the works of art reflected a religious struggle that began in Europe and that had the intention of reaffirming its doctrine among the common people where it comes to Latin America as a violent way to indoctrinate. As a representative work of cultural heritage, it is a mixture of a series of mixture of European education with indigenous learning that makes it a unique work; and in whose artistic work remains the hand of a series of anonymous artists: the "others".
