Resumo
The Small Punch Creep-Recovery Test (SPCRT) applies a methodology for the estimation of a characteristic property of polymers and biomaterials: their viscoelasticity. This miniature test allows estimating the relative moduli αi and relaxation times τi of a viscoelastic model based on Prony series equivalent to that obtained from a tensile or compression creeprecovery test. This allows estimating properties inherent to polymeric materials with a minimum of material, but the most recent experimental tests are limited to PVC. The aim of this investigation was focused on: a study of the influence of different set-up parameters on the result of the SPCRT test; and experimental tests for other polymeric materials (Polyethylene PE HMW 500, Delrin® POM-C, Nylon PA6 y Teflon® PTFE). Related to the analysis of the SPCRT set-up, this study evaluated the influence of the tightening torque of upper and lower dies on the specimen and the specimen thickness on the estimated coefficients of the Prony series.
