In this PhD dissertation, we analyzed dental pathologies and dental wear of various populations, both from historical and prehistoric periods. In addition, hypoplasias have been recorded. Hypoplasias are depressions in the teeth that indicate a period of stress suffered by the individual. On the other hand, both dental macrowear (that which can be observed macroscopically) and dental microwear (for which the use of a scanning electron microscope is necessary) has been studied. The main objective of this work is to establish differences in the lifestyles and diet of these populations. Based on the results obtained, it can be established that the historical populations followed a mixed diet, based mainly on cereals, vegetables and meat. In these populations the preparation of food take is particularly important. On the other hand, prehistoric populations had a less abrasive diet, where meat or aquatic resources are more important.
