Ha centrado su interés en el ictus como mayor causa actual de discapacidad en las sociedades avanzadas, en la discapacidad motora vinculada a distintas etiologías y también a la geriatría y el envejecimiento saludable, tratando de mejorar la fragilidad de los ancianos
