Abstract

The work I want to follow is motivated by a sincere interest in the world of education and training, with particular reference to the orientation. The whole experience so far carried out, first as a student and then as a teacher and professional, which led me to the belief that the orientation is not only choosing the right school, but also and above all a way of life. The orientation of the school has the task of giving the person the development and support processes of choice and decision in order to promote active employment, economic growth and social inclusion. - After a historical overview of the evolution of the concept of guidance especially in the Italian school system, the main research topic is the transition from middle school to high, particularly sensitive time for the boys. - The problem that middle school students are, in fact, come face before enrolling at is understanding what is the school for them. Not all infati come when preicrizione (in January) with clear ideas about the school they want to do after middle school and the risk of being in the wrong attend school for five years.Check whether you can prevent this from happening, is the main focus of my research. The empirical research was conducted on a sample of about 300 alunnni appertenti second classes of different schools of Sicily, particularly for the three schools of Catania in eastern Sicily, three schools and a college of Trapani Salemi (province of Trapani) to Sicila Western. For the city of Catania and Trapani have chosen three city schools located respectively in the center, in a residential neighborhood in the suburbs and two classes from each school; Salemi has chosen one school that actually includes middle school in Salemi (10,000) and middle school in Gibellina (4,000 inhabitants), choosing as sample 3 classes. To acquire the necessary information we proceed to the distribution of questionnaires to students in seventh grade that make my shows in various stages of research. It was decided to sample students attending the second class of high school, because at the end of the second year of it are involved in orientation.
