Zusammenfassung

Many Spanish cities are undergoing a profound process of urban transformation over the past two decades as a result of dynamic changes in transportation infrastructure. Both the level that Valladolid ranks in the urban national hierarchy as well as the magnitude reached in the change process, are analyzed under a geographical an integrated lens, the morphologic and functional changes produced in this city and, at the same time, the proposal of infrastructure initiatives that further stimulate domestic and European context.
