Abstract

This work analyzes the first implementation of a didactic sequence designed with the purpose of approaching the concept "gravitational waves" at high school level. The sequence is contextualized in the theoretical frameworks of Physics First, Nature of Science and Teaching for Understanding. The main resources used are materials available in various formats (texts, videos, animations) with an approach that allows analyzing both conceptual aspects and those related to the production of scientific knowledge, among which gender issues are included. The results are encouraging in terms of the comprehension performances achieved by the students. This indicates the scope of the proposed goals from the generative topic of gravitational waves, as well as epistemological and sociological aspects of the nature of science.
