Zusammenfassung
Despite the growing popularity of the integrated STEM approach in science education, the many conflicting conceptualizations compromise its educational value. Likewise, the absence of pedagogical models makes its didactic transposition a challenging task that is inconsistent with the definitions proposed in the literature. Therefore, this article presents a socio-constructivist interdisciplinary STEM education model that aims at integrating conceptual and procedural scientific, engineering, mathematical and technological curricular contents in a single teaching and learning sequence. Subsequently, the usefulness of the proposed model for the design of STEM teaching units is illustrated. Finally, the implications of the proposed model for future research are discussed.
