Abstract

The main objective of this work was to study the change in attitudes towards people with disabilities in secondary school students (12 to 16 years old), focusing on certain areas such as evaluation, program design and analysis of the effectiveness of different techniques in attitude modification in educational contexts with an adolescent population aged 12 to 16 years old. To this end, three research studies have been carried out. Initially, a first study focused on the evaluation of attitudes towards people with disabilities. The design and validation of a brief questionnaire of attitudes towards disability (CBAD-12A) was carried out in a sample of 1282 students aged 12-16 years. A second study focused on the area of attitude intervention. A Program for Changing Attitudes towards People with Disabilities (PCAD) was designed based on the techniques of information, awareness and direct contact with monitors with disabilities. Finally, this compendium includes a third research that examines the scope of intervention programs and techniques and their effectiveness in changing attitudes towards people with disabilities. The design and comparative study of three intervention programs for adolescent students in educational centers was proposed, and the results show that each of the programs proved to be more effective on a specific factor of the attitude construct.
