Abstract

The archaeological excavation in Pariburu (Durana, Álava) has revealed a set of very original megalithic structures, considering the nature of their constructive elements and their final design. Each building has a circular orthostatic chamber as its core, where the slabs do not maintain lateral contact. It is surrounded by a torus built as a dry flagstone wall, all hidden / monumentalized by a mound of clays with wood. Probably a ramp allowed to circulate on the monument, at the same time that it could have a constructive function. Two architectural projects were proposed, the results of which were two buildings, one above the other, which were amortized by removing almost all human remains and archaeological materials. The bones of a child have been dated to the 6th to 5th millennium cal BP transit. However, its origin is older and, probably, it was active in the early ages with metal. Pariburu constituted a formidable megalithic architecture integrated into the Vitoria dolmen station.
