La actividad de este grupo se centra en el análisis de la literatura, desde el siglo XIX hasta la actualidad, teniendo en cuenta las múltiples relaciones que se establecen entre los textos literarios y la sociedad. Dado que una gran parte de las cuestiones literarias se pueden plantear a partir de las cuestiones sociales –el escritor como ser social y la obra como producto social-, nuestra investigación profundiza en los condicionamientos e influjos dialécticos entre ambas. Por otra parte, la complejidad de la obra literaria requiere otros métodos complementarios para su abordaje, por lo que también se consideran los elementos artísticamente configuradores que deben ser evaluados al margen de tesis predeterminadas.
