This thesis presents the results of an investigation conducted in real situations of teaching Science and Biology, whose focus was the training of teachers. Environment was the thematic axis picked for working the various contents of Biology and Amazonian legends the main motivating element. Composed of four Studies, conducted of 2008-2013, developed in the Pará State University and primary schools in the city of Belem, Para-Brazil, aimed at understanding how is given meaningful learning of student teachers of the environment theme in an educational context based on the Theory of Meaningful Learning, use the webquest as a major educational resource and Amazonian legends as a motivational element. The Studies reaffirm the potential of webquests in fostering the environment theme Meaningful Learning and, also, in the design of teaching and learning of these future teachers.
