Abstract

This article presents the foundation and analysis about the impact of the integrated STEM approach (i-STEM) in attitudes towards science of female students in Primary Education, studying its implementation based on the analysis of their attitudinal performance through the application of a scale of attitudes and an open response writing. A didactic proposal has been designed including a reality context, as well as the most beneficial methodological adaptations for female students. Starting from a problematic situation, it enables learning physical concepts (speed, speed and acceleration) and Scratch programming, as well as verifying it experimentally, following the engineering design methodology. The results obtained from the study sample (N=25) confirm significant differences derived from the approach used: the attitudes towards science of the students are notoriously more positive once they have worked in STEM.
